I found this forum after my I 485 denied as I applied for AOS under AC21 at texas center on 12/31/2008. The first thing I did after joining IV is sent the four letters.

From 2004 I did not report the fraud since I did not know about it. Right now - I wont report it since I dont want to create disruption in this environment - disruption that can come back to bite me. A year down the line - when the environment and the economy is a little better - you bet I will report it now that I know about it.

I doubt that. Medical was relaxed since it can take time for people to get the medicals done. Also immigration doctors were all busy at this time. So it is possible that people arent able to get the meds done by the Aug 17 deadline. The other documents like EVL shouldnt take this long. If the employer is willing to provide future employment to someone then it should be sent along with the application. Whether USCIS will relax for lack of Initial Evidence other than Medical is hard to say. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
But I agree, these two things are different. Only medicals have been relaxed by USCIS via its press release. Since a lot of the lawyers have sent without some initial evidence, AILA should use its proven;-) negotiation skills to get USCIS to issue a new press release which ascertains that only singatures and filing fees are required at this time.

Most of us are at the mercy of our attorney's to file for I-485. The attorney's take their sweet time to prepare the draft and send the application. In this heated moment the attorney's offices should hire more people and get the ball rolling.
All that we can do as employees is pester our HRs and attorneys.:p
more than 100% true...My attorney took two weeks to prepare the 3 forms and when he sent out those forms to me for review, I was amazed to see it was full of errors and mistakes. Finally, I'd to prepare the application and send it to him. Application is so simple that anyone can prepare it. I think we should better do it ourselves if given the chance.

Since you both have a complete filing now (Jan 2007), your wife can actually join the new job based on EAD any time. (Well ... maybe you can wait for 140 approval ... and 180 days just to be safe). The reason is both the EADs (based on Nov 2006 filing) are valid as long as the respective 485 is pending, and I believe the question of your wife's employment is not going to come anytime soon. Next time when you extend the EAD, extend it based on the Jan 2007 485, and after this gets approved, withdraw the Nov 2006- 485 (since you dont need it anymore.... and anyway it will get rejected in the end due to the same or similar employment issue for your wife).
Anyway.... I dont see an issue even if you dont withdraw the Nov 2006 485. In the worst case it will get rejected (question of same/similar employment)... but I dont see why this should affect the Jan 2007 485s.

The EADs she applied got aproved pretty quickly. Several days ago, my EAD applications got denied. The denial reason is, we already have approved EAD.
Originally our plan is: My wife will switch to a Finance related job soon (her LC is based on Software job), I will wait for GC. (The reason we still filed for multiple 485 and EAD is that we want to postpone the decision on who should wait for GC). Now I'm totally confused on whether she can use the EAD, and whether I can renew the approved EAD (because they are based on her application).
Any inputs or clarifications will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
My company's attorney filed for my PERM and I-140. After I-140 approval the attorney kept the original I-140 and sent me the courtesy copy of the approval. I am now going to file for my I-485 on my own.
My question is -
Can I make a photocopy of the courtesy copy of this I-140 approval and use it to file my I-485?
P.S: Courtesy copy is NOT the photocopy of the original I-140. It is a copy that USCIS sends in addition to the orinial approval.

Called the DOS. Told them I need to travel to my home country and asked them if they can verify if my information is in PIMS. She asked if the H1-B is an extension case which it is. She said the extension cases are taking a bit longer than the new ones. That is quite surprising. Finally she looked in the database or whatever and said they do not have my extension information yet. All they have is the information from the expired petition. No timelines just asked me to call back in a week.:rolleyes:
I need to know if anyone had any luck if their lawyers pursued this matter with the DOS.

How long does it take to receive RFE letter by mail? Can we get a copy of RFE letter at the InfoPass appointment. I don't have patience anymore to wait. At least they can tell us what the RFE is about on the phone. These guys are trying my patience.

My case was filed on JUly 2nd, I-140 approved at TSC, No RN, No CC, nothing.. frustrating.. everybody else in the world is getting the receipt notice and FP..
