This is what I did -
1. Had my lawyer followup with consulate -they respond quickly to that.
2. Letter from congressman - congressman called consulate and i got a written reply from congressman on status in less than a week
3. Email followup with consulate
4. Calls to DOS - have to be on hold for a bit though..
Interview - Jan 3; 221g (pink) Phd in bio; additional info submitted - Jan 7th; consulate sent info to DOS - Jan 14th; DOS clearance - Jan 31st. Visa issued - Feb 6th...

I will check my status tomorrow (monday) with the Delhi consulate once more, and then, if need be (fingers crossed), will talk to my boss in Houston about your suggestions regarding congressman's letter. By the way, what if I call DOS tomorrow and they say the I've been cleared, would it still make sense to have congressman approach them? Too many questions, I know, but I guess you know this feeling. It is told that most of the July 2 filings are waiting, but July 17 filings have received RN. Perhaps it all depends where USCIS folks put bundles of applications initially meant for rejection/return. I am also one of the July 2 filers still waiting

This is a dumb idea. You want the US to give you Citizenship while you have an approved I-140 and AOS status??????? You don't even have GC !!!!
Do you even know the reason for the law that states you have to wait for 5 years after getting GC to apply for US Citizenship?
And what is this nonsense about boosting the economy because you pay mortgage?
Please don't waste time on this - GC confers enough benefits for you (and family) to be able to live and work in the USA without ever applying for citizenship. The only benefit you don't have is to work for some US Govt. agencies, to vote and no visa-free world travel (mostly) or sponsoring some more family members to take away more of the social security fund.
If you read the plan, you are essentially asking to by-pass all security laws and telling the US to sell you GC and Citizenship.

you guys might want to talk to your attorneys. Most of the time attorneys ping with their contact in service centers and get some answers if it is still not receipted.
Most of them have an email id whom they contact and find out normally. I am not sure if service centers are responsive if there are huge amounts of data entry still going on.

If you are offended, I don't give a DAMN!! I know about India very well and has been to India many a times. I know very well about the indian corruption which has no comparison with any country in the developed world. All you have to look at is the suveys from various NGOs that track corruptiy on at various countries in the world and you can see where India ranks relative to US or UK

I am on a h1b currently. I changed empoyers in the US but the old stamp is still valid till semptember 2008. I has taken a visa date for jan30 in mumbai consulate and was going to fly back on feb9. Now planning to cancel the visa stamping because of the PIMS delays. I hope i am still valid to fly as i have a valid visa stamp and a new petition from current employer too which i can show at port of entry. Do let me know your views on the same and if there are any probable issues....
You should be fine. You don't need to go for stamping if you are travelling before ur visa expiry.

But people should keep their emotion under control for a number of reasons: First, the AILA reports that they are working hard to stop the State Department from doing this. No one knows how much it will work, but no one knows whether they will change their mind either. Just calm down. Secondly, even if it is released, we have no idea which categories and how much there will be a retrogression. Some categories may turn out to be not too bad. We will just have to wait and see. Thirdly, the AILF is seeking a legal remedy should this rumor indeed materialize. This lawsuit threat may or may not affect the State Department one way or another. We are all educated people and should have received a proper training to maintain a decent composure and not to lose morality and reveal weakness of the personality. Losing one or two days will not induce the sky failling down. Availability of July 485 filing is at this juncture depends on two factors: One is whether the July Bulletin will indeed be revised and the numbers will be retrogressed. The other is whether the USCIS and the visa posts around the world will be able to adjudicate all the backlog I-485 or immigrant visa applications in a very short period of time. Filed for EAD for my husband along with the I 485's and have had all receipts, also had fingerprints done already, exactly one month after the receipt date. Sent both entire packets of forms with checks to Nebraska. We did not file advanced parole since I still have a valid H1B and plan to stay in my current job until I get my card. Husband will work on EAD and will not travel until gets his card, no family left in England.

If they really do forward the flowers they need to think about seperating notes from flowers.

You can't move to EB2 if both employer and position remain the same. I was promoted after working with them for 3 years!:rolleyes: Plus I have a Masters in Computer Science. My new position required more experience and a Master's Degree, hence qualified for an EB2.
Similarly, you can change employers and look for a better job. Then you can use the experience gained at the previous employer. But, ALWAYS, the job requirement has to state the need for years of experience or Advanced degree.
This helps answer my question. I am a little unclear about promotions and whether that will qualify one for a new labor, etc. I personally am not planning to change anything at the moment. My promotion, etc is not being stalled because of my status. So I am OK. Thanks again for your answer.

I have 2004 W2 but cant seem to find my tax return. I have 2003, 2005, 2006tax returns but not 2004. What can I do to get that return. Please any advice will be nice.

My lawyer only asked for the W2 ans tax returns for the last two years. I think the latest two to three years shall be sufficient unless USCIS asks for all specifically.
Are there any instructions specifically asking for W2s and returns for all years of your stay ? or every one is including all they have just to be safe.

I has also gone for Infopass appointment this morning. Office told me that my case has been under review since July 20, 2009.
So there is a chance that the case was approved sometime in the last 2 hours, but I dont see any updates anywhere. As mentioned in my previous post, I will call TSC again at 4 PM. I hope I can hear the same words from some other officer or I get an email or see online updates before that.

Its utter non sense if this rumour is true. I am still counting on this not happening. We need to take a step back relax, its hard on us the employers the lawers and everyone associated.
