Why do you even bother reading updates about ongoing GC issues?
You very well know that GC comes when the time is ripe, so you should really enjoy your sweet time instead of lurking on these forums.

Conflicting opinions are welcome and necessary. However, pls let us eliminate the mudslinging that gets personal so quickly, just because we disagree.
From a practical point of view, given the situation today, getting doors open for citizenship looks remote: True.
However, in a land of immigrants, We The Legal, can stress a case for fairness. Just because we were born in a certain country and were classified by the law, the lawyer and the employer, sometimes unfairly, to be in a certain category, does not mean that we'll get into mainstream 15 years after others.
This is why we are a part of IV. There have been past successes with IV.
Pls let us TRY.

It seems the popular perception is that this is an Indian effort.
We need to correct it.
It seems some of the members who interviewed with the media got carried away with "Gandhigiri" and all things Indian. It sounds ironic, we are craving attention from Indian media while trying to become Permanent residents of USA.

The sound bite/theme of this campaign flower protest has its origins in Gandhigiri, which most of the media knows now. Thats how reporters tend to script it in their own ways and associate things based on history. You have to try to envisage how things work. If not, you can try doing an interview and see if "What you say is what is you see", even though facts are not misrepresented 100%

I welcome all non-Indian IV members to step up and grab this oppurtunity to not only prove that IV has world wide members, but also can put their native country into picture so that IV can be more diverse.

Foreclosure and bankruptcy will not affect your job search... especially in this market.
If you encounter a situation in future and HR questions you about bad credit or bankruptcy be honest and explain what happened and companies will understand. This is a tough economy and even millionaires are foreclosing because its the smart thing to do in a capitalist economy.
Similarly applying for bankruptcy is not bad, it is there for a reason. But remember, understand the bankruptcy laws; for example if you owe 100,000 and apply for bankruptcy the chances are the court will make you pay for it. If you owe 1mill then the court knows that you cannot pay and will dissolve it. Same applies for foreclosure, banks will help you if you cannot afford to make the payment. If you can and they think you can, you are screwed. sorry!

I received the same thing. A canned reply asking to use their phone lines for inquiries. They returned my original envelope as well as my letter :rolleyes:

That if eb2 numbers are not filled then they automatically get allocated to eb3 so why to have portability to eb2.

how can it be free..when you pay 25/month?
I have vonage service since two years and i am paying 24.99/m since two years for unlimited US, canada and europe. They just added india in the international calling list so isn't it free? I am not paying anything extra for calling to india. I have been with vonage for quality and it is personal choice about which service you use and how much you pay for that. It all depends on usage and how much we spend on calling cards or calls to india. If you spend more than $25 on calling to india than this is a great plan if you have internet connection at home.

There are laws and there are exceptions. Basically there are no Laws when it comes to Immigration. USCIS/DOS can do whatever they like.
Look at Jul'2007, people with EB3 PD of 2004 got approved and people with 2001 are still waiting.
Look at EB2 approvals these days. People with 2006 PD are getting approved and people with 2004 PD are still waiting.
Can somebody explain how PD in each VB goes backward? Is it possible to get new applications with older PD in between? Don't they have computers with all the data where they can see how many applications are pending?

If EB3 would have known about this new interpretation then they would have never applied in EB3 category.
Bottomline is there are no rules. USCIS/DOS is doing whatever they like and playing with our life. Nobody knows how many applications are pending. Nobody can predict the VB movement, it goes forward and backward. We cann't plan our lives and live in limbo all the time.

I dont see any improvement at chennai.I contacted consulate after 7 working days (after interview) and got reply to allow another 4 work days.
Consulate has handed over the passport to VFS on Jan 2nd and VFS has dispatched on the same day.I would be receiving that today.

Spouse : PD Feb 2006 - EB3.
Suggested by our lawyers.
File my I-485 with spouse as dependent,
File my spouse's I-485 with me as dependent mentioning receipt notice of first I-485.
File for only one set of EAD and AP docs. Doesn't matter with which.
