I had a friend who tried to register but the website wouldn't because he has yet to file his LC, can someone confirm this? otherwise I will personally help my friend if he is making any mistake.
He is forwarding to his Chinese friends to spread the word..
thanks,
What your friend can do is enter the tentative month he thinks his LC is going to be filed. He can always update his user profile once the LC is actually filed. I would however request all members who are introducing others to request them to enter a valid email that they access frequently. IV is not in the business of selling emails or sending junk mail. But valid and regularly accessed emails are a vital tool in getting members involved when a significant push is needed.

Trying to bump this up to get attention of experinced folks
your lawyer is right. When you file 485, your employer should give a employment offer letter that states that you have a job offer as per the terms and conditions of labor certification. That includes the geographical location of the job offer.

If your wife has an approved extension of H4 till 2010 and you are expecting her H1 to be effective on 1 oct - why do you want to apply for extension again with the new company.
I'm not sure if you *have* to apply for an extension for her when you switch your job. Best thing - if you want to take the job - say *yes* to the job offer with a condition that there should not be any issues for your wife. Your new company can connect you with their lawyer and in a meeting you would be able to know the exact scenario.
Having said that and knowing how the sentiments go for lawyers :-) , if you want to play it safe - say *yes* tomorrow, talk to their lawyer and get it confirmed that there are no risks, start the paperwork and in parallel, talk to a lawyer of your own choice ( you would need to spend some money ) and get reconfirmation of the same. If both lawyers have the same answer and you feel comfortable, go ahead with your change.
Today has been a crazy day and you posted this question on such a day - on any regular day someone or the other would have surely helped you with better answers but thats all I can help you with today.... hope things work out for the best for you.

As far as I know
GC
1)Allowed to live and work in the US with no restrictions
2)Must be present in the US for at least 6 months in every year
3) Cannot apply for certain government jobs
4)Cannot vote
5)Cannot apply for a US passport
6)Must be renewed every 10 years?
Citizenship
Restrictions 2,3,4,5 and 6 does not apply
That's not correct. There is big difference between h1B annd GC and it is not for 10 years. it is for ever unless you don't fulfill some conditions.

Frankly, the chances of getting an EB-2 I-140 approved with your educational background are very bleak to say the least. However, there are always exceptions and I hope you get lucky. Good luck, atleast your employer tried.
I agree the qualifications don't seem strong but shouldn't that have been caught at the labor stage?? or is it at the 140 that they check the educational background??

Kudo's to your commitment. I can never run at 5 AM
What a contrast! You guys on the west coast are running in 100 degrees. My schedule forces me to run at 5.00 am...........in 3 layers of clothing @ 40 degrees.

EAD renewal filed for my wife (i'm working on h1 and didn't apply for me)
Efiled at TSC on May 29th and sent the documents right away
got a soft lud on June 6th and then received FP notice in mail.
FP done on June 21st as per the notice..
After that there was no lud, no update for long time... we started getting little worried..
on the 69th day my wife called uscis to inquire. uscis representative was nice to talk but gave same info as you see online. but he said that we can call after 75 days to open SR.
my wife called on the 75th day which was Friday August 15th. she used the POJ method (i found it somewhere on this forum). she again got a nice person. the rep said that she will open the SR and said that can request expediting. but said that in 5 days they will let us know if the expedite request is accepted or not.
over the weekend i was thinking of taking the infopass appointment but thought i would wait for a week more
and today morning i got the email from CRIS about cpo..
as i said, i'm not sure if today's status update is anyway linked to the SR she opened..
do let me know if you need more info..

Even illigal immigrants has more optimism,
And they actually believe themselves they have every right to become a permanant citizens than legal immigrants waiting in line.
Some folks can't even bear the thought if some one thinks they should try to influence the law makers.
Illegals have nothing to lose. If CIR happens...they celebrate, now that they can all be legal and apply for their families to follow them
If CIR does not happen...they still continue to live here, work their jobs, keep sending money home, and try and get their relatives over here by paying the "coyotes"...it makes no difference to them.
Even if these guys are legalised, they will still NOT pay taxes, NOT learn english, NOT try and be upstanding residents.
They have huge numers, both in population and political support.
They represent a MASSIVE democratic vote bank.
WE (EB) have none of the above and a lot to lose)
Hence, the attitude.

This is a link to other races in the DC area: I have never run a race; so I plan on running one of the 5K races in May or June and maybe try one of the 10K races in August. I am sure there are other races abound in summer. If there are others who are apprehensive about running the 10miler (like me).........you might want to try doing something similar.

I have a question Desertfox....
I need some help. I am a non substanially comparable position candidate and I have been aduited. The CO mentioned that my job seems similar and want me to provide more information on my job duties so my manager and I worked together to ensure that my jobs were different to meet the requirements and I resubmitted my case. Does anyone know what the DOLs view on substainally comparable position candidates? Am I likely to get denied? I am in the a position that is not the typical IT role but working with HR and wanted to know what the DOL's response might be and if i am likely to get denied. Also, I am a fragormen client who is recently being audited so I'm nervous. Can you anyone help me??!?!?!
