In my earlier post, I dint mean to say that all Kinkos are bad, its just the particular one near me was not good enough. The photos were as if they were taken with a yellow filter on their lenses.
Sears did a very good job instead.
You can just tell them that you need photos for passport. They are the same requirements
Think it this way, your photo might be scanned by their machine to be printed on visa/notice. If the photo is not of good quality it might get pixelated after they scan.
So be your own judge, think if you were in USCIS shoes and had to scan a photo and produce it on visa/stamp. They might also use some image recognition softwares for which they require exact speicifications.

very well said goel.. I said the same thing to IV and I got God knows how many reds. The only time I saw a huge impact was after July fiasco but again it was not IV's alone effort, many other organizations were included.
Honestly IV is a great platform to help members with their questions and exchange knowledge about immigration topics but nothing more.. I don't expect the founders to leave their full time jobs to address immigration issues as without a job they won't have any immigration issues.

There are hundreds of thousands of us, stuck in retrogression! There's no excuse not to bring 10,000+ to the rally! Let's think guys! Let's promote the rally more, talk to all your friends, visit blogs, univeristy international associations, etc and spread the word! Let's sponsor people, invest our finances and our time. If there was ever a moment in our lives to do this it is now! Once you get your green card you can go and start your company and be a millionaire if you want. Yes, don't worry guys. Once I-140 is approved, most of employment and job related stuff is over.
I-485 is mainly for status change stage to check criminal background (not job related :) ), FP and name check. They won't check much on job.
It is all straight forward and only a time consuming stage. Thats all. Enjoy the AOS pending stage.

Ignore the IOs, just talk to your Senator or Congressman. They will be able to help you out. I was stuck in name check for more than 3 years. My congressman did not help but the senators office had a namecheck cell and they help out with genuine cases. The person there helped me clear my name check in 2-3 months (talk, dont email, send certified letter with details after talking to them). Had i known this earlier I would have had contacted them earlier and would have gotten my GC in June 07. My lawyer sdid not allow us to contact the IOs for information and i suffered big time because of that. Based on my experience all i can say is be proactive.

But now that they have opened my application and mailed an RFE on Oct 22, at least I know that some IO is processing my case. Right now I am eagerly waiting for the RFE details. You have chosen to live in this country and you have the choice to be with her or not. Remember - no one can force you to do anything in this world. Hi all,
Mine is a different situation, i was with my employer till mid of last year and did not inform him while leaving his company and joined another job (h1 transfer) he is now saying that the vendor did not pay him some money and i have to pay that amount and he is demanding that amount for my W-2.
He also said that he would take legal action if i didnot pay his losses ( i did not sign any document with him other than my h1b papers) no agreements,
I am going to call IRS after feb15, but is he going to go to court?
Please suggest me.

Dude, I think you shouldn't worry about this. The contract was between the consulting company and the client. If the client doesn't pay what is your fault ? You don't control the client. I don't think he has any case against you. He might have a case against the client for not paying the dues for services rendered but that is their problem , not yours.
These desi consulting firms are so friggin shortsighted and pennypinchers. They need to be taught a lesson. I really wish that they come up with some immigration reform bill where one of the items is to prevent exploitation of employees hired by these desi firms.

2) Do you have any case against you (ciminal or civil) in your home country?
3) Did you have any unlawful status of more than 6 months during your presence in US.
4) Do you have any case pending here?
5) Did you, in past, provide any fake documentation or info pertaining to any benefit you were seeking?
These are just few things that may cause this.
Do update us what you find out after Infopass.

Filed at NSC on Jul 21st. Received as per FedEx receipt on Jul 23rd. Transferred I-485s, EADs and APs applications from NSC to CSC.
Received EADs and APs on Sept 25th from CSC.
Sept 18th notice received that I-485s have been moved back from CSC to NSC.
Rceipt date for transfer notice is Sept 18th. Dont see my actual Jul 23rd date anywhere.
When I posted this on , posters suggested that there is a "Receipt Notice" versus a "Transfer Notice".
My lawyer received the receipt notice. Will check with him about the Receipt date on that notice and post later today.
Any other ideas what this all means would be appreciated.
