Here is the news that is very important but often overlooked in the immigration spectrum:
"Senate OKs Patriot Act renewal sends to House"
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11638713/
Why this is the news is good and relevant from the point of view EB provisions?
Because EB provisions (section 8001) were thrown out of S.1932 because of the differences between key players over the Patriot act. Now that this is out of the picture, at least there is one less thing to worry about.

This is not I-485 and its a CP case...
Thanks. That was an obvious oversight indeed.

The moment I get sufficient number of people I am going all out.
But as a compromise, I have got a very simple and easy way out...I can tell you one thing, I do have a case which does not require any law change but just the interpretation of it.
Make sure that 5882 is successful. If it proceeds, I will back down. It is a shame that among 25K members raising 5K becomes a challenge.
This goes on to show there is no community. If there is not community then I have to look after my interest.
Stupid is as stupid does
How about going after EAD's, because of the 2007 july fiasco many people were fortunate enough to get an EAD, now they are competing with you in the job market....how about filing a law suit against that ? to cut the competion ....looks like you have plenty of time.

JUAN GONZALEZ: Lou, Id just like to ask you one last question. We have very little time left. But youve criticized many American companies, but CJR, Columbia Journalism Review, came out with a report in 2004 that questioned that your private newsletter, which goes to investors, has recommended investing in several of these companies thatthat you actually list
LOU DOBBS: You know what? When I came here, Juan, I knew this would be a lot of fun with you two, but youre really ridiculous
JUAN GONZALEZ: You actually list
LOU DOBBS: because I havent had a newsletter for three years, partner. I shut down the newsletter.
JUAN GONZALEZ: No, but when your newsletter was operating, it was recommending
LOU DOBBS: Oh, OK, when it was operating.
JUAN GONZALEZ: some of the very companies that you were criticizing for outsourcing.
LOU DOBBS: This is a very difficult thing for ideologues like you two to contend withthat is, balancing two concepts at the same time. But is there a correlation between investment in companies and a business practice that is absolutely pervasive in corporate America? Can you think of a single corporation in America that is not supporting outsourcing of jobs to overseas labor markets, cheap overseas labor markets?
AMY GOODMAN: Were going to have
LOU DOBBS: If you can name one
AMY GOODMAN: We have five seconds, Lou.
LOU DOBBS: then Ill suggest to you that there was probably a problem with that. If you cant, then you know that it was utter nonsense, and you shouldnt have brought it up.
AMY GOODMAN: Was it part of why you shut it down?
LOU DOBBS: No, not really.
AMY GOODMAN: Were going to leave it there.
LOU DOBBS: I was bored with it.
AMY GOODMAN: Lou Dobbs, thank you very much for joining us. His book is Independents Day: Awakening the American Spirit.

My attorney said only copy of recent i-94 and i-797 required.
I-94s are submitted at the airport when you leave the country. In many cases there are no I-94s coz they have been submitted and no one thought of making copies of them before travelling out of country. I am sure I dont have all the I-94s that I ever used. I submitted them at the airport when I went out and didnt make copies.
I think it must be ok if you dont have all of them. Can anyone advise if that's the case?

Mine is at TSC. PD: July 04. RD: Aug 17, 2007. ND: Oct 15, 2007. What is your RD and ND?
I have a feeling that the IO might look at the applications received on Aug 17, 2007, only at last. Its because, when I went for infopass, the IO said that, "You have filed on the last date, so you will have to wait".
Anyhow, I have tried all that I could, and now I leave it to the Almighty.[/QUOTE]

I dont know too much about the conflict but the first post on the site says this:
Immigration Voice is starting a massive campaign to make it easier for immigrants and those on non-immigrant visas (H-1Bs, L-1s, F-4 students) to get green cards --- furthering the displacement of skilled American workers (programmers, engineers, scientists, etc.)
So, I'm passing along this suggestion from another group:
Please read the email below, and I ask you to cut/paste their letter text, and then
customize it (which is to say reverse engineer it) asking them to CLOSE
the door, not open it wide. We must act NOW to counteract their
campaign.
So thats just somebody's interpretation of letter campaign. Perhaps one of the enthusiasts over here should post something over there differentiating the goals of the letter campaign from illegal immigration along with all the arguments posted here and explain that their interpretation is incorrect.

I thought pappu said these points have already been discussed with administration, and we are running this campaign because there have been positive signals.
Lets rest our fears and trust the fixes and do our parts in this.

I read on the murthy.com website that the UCSIS needs to go through the Kentucky Consular Center to obtain the PIMS verification. The number for the KCC is 606-526-7500. I am going to try and call them to see if they can give me any information on timelines.
For those people that have not left the US yet, it might be worth it to talk to your lawyers and see if there is any way you can have your names added to this database before you travel - that should eliminate any hassles once you leave the country. Much easier to try and do it from there rather than from here.
There is no number to call here to check on status - I have been sending emails to mumbaiNIV@state.gov but have not received any response from them yet. Not really a surprise. If anyone tries the number above and gets some response please let the rest of us know.
Just curious if public can call this consular center?
