Concentrate on action items and work harder than ever, which can bring a great relief to entire EB community. It does not matter how many times we failed or succeeded, every attempt we are an inch closer to our ultimate (IV) goal.

If this goes through , the next step is to fight for review of all EB1 and EB2 applications thoroughly for misrepresentations in the job descriptions to make sure the job they do indeed requires masters degree and to make sure same job is not being done by a person with bachelor degree in the industry (Not just same company).
To make sure when they file for the GC they have the real INTENT to work for the company. working for SIX months is not intent. If all the issued green cards are canceled if they don't work for the company, we will have enough numbers for genuine candidates in all groups.
How about even extend this to citizenship ? I have some ideas in that area as well !!
I know a person (used to live in same street) who could not get in to med or engg college. Finishes BSc in life sciences.Stays in university hostel for 7-8 years preparing for job and finishes PHD in life sciences in the process(You know how they go ). Now filed for EB1 and worked for just six months in a university. Now runs an Indian Grocery. How a person running an Indian Grocery is more useful to this country to qualify for EB1 ? NO Matter how many people say "Take it easy" its simply not possible, you will have to be a superhuman to do that. Sure its stressfull but no more stressful than boarding your first flight to USA. no more stressful than attending 1st H1B interview at the consulate or your first client interview. So in the end, we have been through all the hurdles with most of us surviving 2001-2002 job markets and now is 2007.
The point is we have been through all that successfully and thats a BIG WIN. So we will be through this too, but not without stress. The day we decided to come to USA and until now we have been successful as we are resourceful and can improvise at a short notice and we will. We are shrewd individuals and We Will PREVAIL.

I received a phone call (WOW!) from a sweet lady from CIS Ombudsman's office. I sent letters to his office and in the letter I mentioned my cell #. Anyway she wants a real person who got deniel. I told her that my friend got deniel (IVens are my fried). Anyway, she sent an email too after I asked her to give her info so that my friend can send her his case details. As I had mentioned earlier in this thread - I had received 3 referral credits through IV. (actually I had sent out more invitations - but not everybody accepted/used my invitations).
For this, as I had promised earlier in this thread - I will contribute $75 to IV once I start using these referral credits (which will happen from next month once my own sign up referral bonus runs out).
Two of the three referrals who used my invitation also promised they will contribute $25 to IV for the referral.
To me, this appears to be an acceptable use of the IV message board. Anybody benefitting from IV by getting referrals may want to do the same.
OTOH, I think it is unfair to abuse the IV platform for personal gain. No other respectable message board allows that. Try these referral spam or other trolling activities in fatwallet of SD, and see how fast you get banned for it even though they are explicitly for deal hunting. Online anonymity is a great thing since it masks a trolls true identity. But think again - your identity is not really as secure behind online anonymity as you think unless you are a professional troll and have taken elaborate measures to obfuscate things. Trolling may come back to bite you.
Now, a question for mods - I went in to sign up for another recurring contribution for 3 months for $25 today (in addition to my normal subscription). However, I cant find any option for $25 recurring contribution now.

This is my case in brief:
I resigned from company A (who sponsered by RIR LC, and I-140) about a year back.
Filed I485 using approved 140 of comapny A in July 07, in the485 application we mentioned the details of the current company I am working in. Got EAD and AP approved. (Company A's management is co-operative and supports me to take back)
Also got 3yr H1b extension approved for current company based on the approved I140 of company A.
Now Iam traveling to India. Had an appointment in Chennai consulate . My previous H1B visa expired in 2004.
Will there be any issues with that much gap 4yrs, in getting stamp?
Is it an issue not working for GC sponsoring employer?
If I use AP what are the issues?
If asked at PoE (Newark EWR) why not working with company A? what should be better answer?

for all those whose lawyers allow multiple filings: what are you filling in for I-485 Part 3 section A "Have you ever before applied for permanent resident status in the U.S"?
In my case both applications are proceeding in parallel and I dont know which lawyer will end up filing first!
The one you apply next should should have the option checked.
Word of advice:
Understand the full implications if you want to file 2. I have gone into its details over the past week and this weekend, and would not advice someone to do it just for the heck of it. You should have VERY genuine reasons for it due to some risks involved. This is a grey area and there is no law for it or against it. There can be some risks and advantages.

I think it is the part of their process. I went an infopass the other morning and the IO gave me the same response. She said every thing was fine with my application. It was pre-adjudicated and now waiting for a review now that my priority date is current. She asked me to wait for 60-90 days. But I got the approval same afternoon :)
I was told the same thing in my infopass appointment on Sep 3rd. I also opened a SR on 09/01. Finally received the 485 approval notice on 09/10. My wife who is my dependent actually received a CPO email on 09/09 and a message on 09/10 saying "you are registered as permanent resident". I never received the CPO email and I don't care.
It's been a long 10 year journey, extremely frustrating. I case to this country as a student, then H1B, was exploited by my employers for so many years, still with the same employer on H1. Renewed EAD 2 times never used it as my 485 was denied last year.
Case history:
Priority date: Apr 26, 2006
140 rejected: Dec 2008.
I-140 reapplied Jan 2008
I-485- receipt date: 09/11/2007
I-140 approved Aug 2008 (Multiple RFEs which were never ending)
I-485 denied without appeal Jul 2009 because they somehow linked my case to a denied I-140.
Lawyer filed motion to reopen in Aug 2009.
I-485 reopened and went into pending status Jun 5, 2010
Here's what I did since the last month:
- Called USCIS to open a SR 08/15/10 but was told I should call when my priority date becomes current
- Called USCIS on 09/01, opened a SR for both myself and wife, was told I should hear back in 30-60 days, but may receive an email sooner.
- Lawyer called on 09/02: IO (Level 2) said, I may have to do finger printing again as they were expired.
- Took infopass for 09/03: IO was very helpful. Said my case was in transit and is pre-adjudicated. It was not assigned to IO as of that point.
- Contacted Congressman on 09/07. They initiated an inquiry on my behalf.
- Took another infopass on 09/10 (I wasn't aware that petition was already approved). Received the most humiliating treatment from the IO. She will not disclose any detail and told me I should come back in Dec to check on my status since my 485 was denied earlier. I ran into a Canadian immigrant who had the same experience - absolutely useless.
- Came home all frustrated and angry. I was surprised the see that the approval emails had popped in 8 am in the morning.
I believe the SR to request our files on 09/01 probably worked.
I can't thank enough the IV core and all wonderful people who keep contributing to this forum. This forum has been a great help!

I exactly know where your statements about 2005-2006-2007 coming from. Your basic assumptions is that 2005-2006-2007 guys are those who just came to US 2-3 yrs back and now want their GC asap whereas you are waiting in line for 6-7 years...right?
Ma'm with all due respect, that is not correct for most of the cases. There are several people who has to re-file their labor for several reasons (employer greedy, company overtaken, laid-off, company gone bankrupt etc etc.). That does not mean that 2005-2006-2007 guys are asking that they should get GC before 2001-2004 people. What most of the people need is an ability to file for AOS so that they can indepenedent of the clutches of their employers.
I'm sure if you widen your horizon, you will be able to understand the plight of all your brothers and sisters stuck in this retrogression.

I didn't get an email but got an sms from USCIS about the case status change to Decision. Here's the update :)
Decision
On October 13, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Does that mean an 'Approval'. Between we moved to AZ from FL this week and I'm sending my AR-11 and changed the address over the phone. Is there anything else I need to do ?

First of all the progress of this thread so depressing.
Finished calling all in the list. Generally the response from Dems was better, I felt good after talking in Dem's offices.
Similarly general response from Repub's was short (even curt), not very enthusiastic.
