Imagine, given the huge retrogression how many countless times we will be refiling our EADs ad APs if we don't act now.
Many people are blissfully enjoying the fruits of labor of some very dedicated IV member who selflessly participated in San Jose rally and flower campaign. These efforts were instrumental in the July visa bulletin reversal. Isn't it time we all stood up for our rights and make a strategic impact through a legislative change rather then just be satisfied with a tactical July visa bulletin reversal win?

No. The way I understand it, the new employer is offering you a permanent job in the same/similar job classification. So you work for the new employer in a permanent capacity after you receive the green card.
I have a question....Green card is for future employment.In that case,once your I-485 got approved ,you need to go and work for your original employer who sponsered your green card. Is that right? Is that the same case if someone uses AC21?

Guys, I'm as furstrated as everybody else with the process and I would like to direct that frustration into something positive. :)
I live in San Francisco so my congresswoman is Nancy Pelosi and Dianne Feinstein's office is in the city.

State chapters are a great mechanism to communicate with other members in your state and district. Please use that if it works for you.
However, if you cannot find someone to go with you, then go alone. Many of the meetings we do in Washington, sometimes we get appointments from 2 or 3 offices at the same time. In that case we split up and only one person goes to meet the lawmakers or staffers. But we cannot lose opportunities or miss opportunities.
So go alone if there is no one else in your district to go with you.

Its not only for illegals but its also for kids of legals that aged out due to retrogression or backlogs in visas...plz don't be selfish with view points like "it doesnt help us so im gonna oppose it"....instead help the children who aged out due to the visa backlogs!!! The only thing seems to be happening is that they are transferring cases from NSC/TSC to CSC/VSC for EADs, APs and I-485s for data entry and EAD/AP approval.

It is not a mistake. Logically, ROW eb3 should not even be retrogressed.

That is already the law. But this law has been proved to be virtually impossible to enforce. The only practical solution is to deny H1-B's to consulting firms (at least for the positions that require the employee to work at the client location).

I know lot of us have tough schedule but this bill will get rid of large pool-
I would think 30-35% - Why? Lets see EB1's are definitely out- Plus most EB2's (except Bachelors + 5 yrs exp guys) will be out.
Don't give me any Red dots over this- Just a humble opinion. So, lets says it gets rid of 30% in queue, it's as good as Increasing visas to 182K!

Please check with both Immigration attorney (for 485 withdrawal), and a divorce lawyer in India.
I believe that if the marriage was conducted in India, but US court issues the divorce decree, such decree is not automatically recognized in India. You might have to file for such a decree in India too.
Personally, withdrawing now, and reapplying is a better option. You will be playing Russian roulette if you decide to wait for some time to "withdraw" -- as USCIS could suddenly make dates current (remember last year), and approve a bunch of application. Of course, consult an Immigration lawyer to see if you can withdraw and re-use the same application (140) later. If not, withdraw and start a new GC (using current 140 as basis for priority date) -- you could even get a EB2 classification.

As per this logic, Prof Matloff is also paid in the same bracket as other university professors; so he is also ordinary because his pay ratio would be 1.0!!! At any place, your co-workers are doing same type of work, so will get same salary. Even in hedge funds, if an immigrant is paid very high salary, his colleagues are also paid the same high salary. Very ridiculous logic to use pay ratio.

And does he think that someone must have PhD to do useful innovations? How many of these great innovative companies are started by PhD? On the contrary, how many PhDs work for Microsoft who is started by college dropout?

I went thru COBRA for the last 2 months I tell you its a PAIN IN THE A##.
Yeah premiums are very high. due to some gross miscommuniation on the provider they cancelled my COBRA for december since they didnt recieve payment.
ONce you quit our current job, you will get within 7-10 days details from ur current insurance cpmpany or a third party administrator which ur company uses. They will also send a payment coupon. (not a discount coupon..).
I hope your new company is paying the COBRA reimbursements for you...if not there is a loop hole in COBRA taht you can use and NOT pay the payments since you will have grace period. HOWEVER please keep in mind that the new insurance with your new company may have some restrictions on pre existing conditions...so keep an eye on that..since its for 30 days you will get on to a new insurance personally I wouldnt care for CBORA if the premiums are too high, why becuase, remember the coverage is RETROACTIVE, so you can get a claim reimbursed later after within the grace period
