The people who became "Current" with FIRST July Visa Bulletin
That's the entire world. You must be kidding.

The number of people prior to Jan 05 is up to 89 and I am sure it will keep peeping up.
The factor of 100 (1 % polling) seems to be a realistic assumption.
Considering the above numbers/assumptions we are looking at the following number of people awaiting approval next month:
89 * 100 * 2.25 = 20025
By this poll/statistics somewhere between 20K - 25K people are awaiting approval next month.
Also there seems to be no more approvals as per after 08/21. Either all the people have been greened (barring a few with some complexity in their case) or the visa numbers have been exhausted(I do not think the latter is the case).
Hopefully a big chunk of these people do get their approvals next month.
GOOD LUCK!!!
Even if its multiplied by 100 we should be ok, if the USCIS does a good of not waisting visas by doing their best in the month of Sep. Say we have 6500 * 2 .25 (Family) = 15000people waiting from EB2 2004. Looking at the spillover numbers from last year, we might be lucky enough. Just trying to be optimistic for the next 35 days.
We received our 2nd biometric appointment notice for Sep 11th. Our Notice date is Sep 19th 2007. Just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for something good. :)

A Quick Question.
Can parents stay here for 5 1/2 months go back for say a month or two and come back again for 5 1\2 months? Would this pattern be suspected during visa renewal?

[QUOTE=h1techSlave;320723]wasn't the flower campaign an 'effort by IV'?
Any way, I think you don't need IV's (for that matter any organization's support) to file a law suit. If you think USCIS is breaking the law, you can file a law suit with the help of a lawyer. A couple of $100 is all that would cost you.
It is silly to think filing lawsuit will cost $100. If I could do it myself I would have done it already. Filing potential successful lawsuit requires successful attorney to prove out a point. They are familiar with laws and their interpretation. They are good at explaining those interpretations. They do it day in and out. My job is not to file is lawsuit. I leave that to pros.
Somebody will be foolish to think I don't IV. I need IV now more than ever. IV has establisehd a base and some sense of direction of where to go. Why would I want to start myself and re invent this wheel? IV has base with support of members, access to lawyers, voice in the world where I am just a pawn etc.

AC21 applies specifically to the time before you get GC. Even if you do use AC21, you should have the intention to stay with the employer you're with or the future employer (who submits an employment letter attesting they have a permanent job offer which is similar in scope in the LCA and I-140 petition) at the time of GC Approval.
The 90-day timeframe is sufficient to establish intent, as posted earlier.

If you already used AC21 then? how would you explain to IO. I think what matters is your explanation and there should be no reason for denial of citizenship if you are able to explain.
cheers

Check ICICI. I think it is called a NRE account. You can fund it in Dollars and Rupees and it could be repatriated in Dollars. So just open the account and have them deposit the monies India, you can draw it here. This kind of account is for NRI's who earn an income in India and want to access it here.
There is a limit I think but it must be like $25K..
Good Luck
Two years back the limit was $25,000 per year. It seems substantially higher now. I did it through a one stop process at ICICI. Not cumbersome at all.
I am not sure if it is as difficult as is everyone's impression in this thread.
http://www.icicibank.com/pfsuser/icicibank/depositproducts/outward_remittance/out_remittance.htm
BTW, I repatriated money from a resident Indian account (account that I opened when I was a resident). I did not personally get an RBI clearance etc.
There were strict repatriation rules in the days when $s were in demand in India. These days RBI wishes there were less $s in the market. One of the reasons why the outflow is liberalized.
Good Luck.

I ran another poll in Sept 2008 (after last years EB2 India approvals).
http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/forum2-retrogression-priority-dates-and-visa-bulletins/poll-381-a.html
There were 7% (8) 2003(+pre) cases, down to 1% good sign.
There were 20% (77) 2004 cases, now 25%(100) cases (we may have more 2004 members of in IV now or this is due to EB3->EB2 porting).
2006 and 2007 numbers are consistent, same percentage since last poll.
good idea. A google search beings up:
http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/forum2-retrogression-priority-dates-and-visa-bulletins/6128-trying-to-find-where-eb2-india-might-land.html
almost the same sized sample (~450)... this was right before the july 2007 fiasco, but includes 485 not-yet-filed, so is in essence the same thing as this poll.
2003 got somewhat cleaned up (used to be 15% is now 1%)
2004 is more or less same, of slightly higher (98 votes (24%) now. was 84 votes(20%) then)
so looks like big improvement in 2003, but 2004 barely changed overall?

Dear All,
Can we determine to pool in at least 200,000.00 (each to contribute at least 300 dollars) so that we can at least hope for GC in few months and not years.
Please help yourself.
My contribution for April:
Donation to Support Immigration Voice (User: Caliber)
$50.00 USD for one month
Effective Date: Apr. 1, 2009 $50.00 USD
Is it a guaranty or just assumption that we get GC in few months if we pool $300 ??? sounds to me is a guaranty.. can you back this up with reasonable explanation????

How long USCIS tool to update the status online to show your RFE response has been received? I sent the response for RFE on June 7th and there is update about the case at all. No online status update either. God knows what they are doing with it. They are suppose to complete the case in 15 qorking days after they receive it.
Mine it took 2/3 days after sending response. I thought they got too busy sending notices to new I140 PPs after june 15th and not processing I140s. But i saw someone whoe did PP on june 21 and got approve in a few days.

I agree with each and every word of your posting!!!
IV is doing a fabulous work. Hats off to the core team!!!;
I was active during efforts towards getting the immigration provisions into the S1932 bill and I can say that the efforts today are much more organized than those for S1932; I can imagine the scrambling and the mess that we would have been today, if not for IV.
Good luck, IV!!! Even if we do not succeed this time, we will have enough mileage to push our provisions within a separate bill in the near future. Keep up the good work.
I logged in this morning to get a regular update and came across this thread.
I am surprised to this discussion and the heated debate. Tides and Ebbs are a part of what we do. I think we must all be satisfied that we have IV to represent us. Think about it guys, we would have no voice if it were not for IV. I sincerely hope something comes out of all this efforts that all of us have put in. We have a good thing going here and lets not stop.
Even if nothing happens, I will be content that we have made efforts. Not just a tiny efforts but a big ones. Kudos to everyone who is contributing ideas and money. Keep the good work going and let us know what we have to do to help you all.

Cash Surrender Value
The sum of money an insurance company will pay to the policyholder or annuity holder in the event his or her policy is voluntarily terminated before its maturity or the insured event occurs. This cash value is the savings component of most permanent life insurance policies, particularly whole life insurance policies. Also known as "cash value", "surrender value" and "policyholder's equity".
Notes:
Cash surrender value applies to the savings element of whole life insurance policies that are payable before death. However, during the early years of a whole life insurance policy, the savings portion brings very little return compared to the premiums paid.

I am also proud to live in such wonderful country who are open to any new talent and do not hesitate to honor anyone irrespective of their color, race and religion. I wish all countries take inspiration from it.
I share your enthusiasm, for now. But it is not always like this, and will not be like this. So lets cherish these times. Great talent and greatness has been rewarded with obscurity, more often than not.
Here is an example - Do you know who invented AC current, electric motor, laser, x-ray, radio technology, wireless technology, cellular technology, neon, remote control just to name a few. There is not a minute that goes by in the life of modern humans when we don't use inventions of this great man, but over 99% of all people don't know his name. Everyone will call Einstein a great scientist. But this is the greatest, and how come so less people know about him?
Reason, he was not American, British nor a Jew. So history rewarded the greatest scientist with obscurity. And most of us don't know about him.
The point is, great talent is not always rewarded as it should be. We think that we are talented and that's why we are on "special" visa. The fact is, we have chosen to be part of the system, that makes a rich guy richer. As long as you are in the business of making a rich guy richer, or as long as you are part of the system that makes more money for some hotshot powerful banker, we can all continue to live in this fool's paradise claiming that any new talent is always honored in this GREAT country.
