1) Fast-track GC process for Masters degree holders from US universities. This will be the least controversial, boost admissions (and money) flowing into universities, and clear up backlog in regular GC queue. Its a win-win and most senators, congressmen have voiced support for it already. We can get very good support from University lobbyists also (if they exist!!).

I am on H1 with 485 pending. Now that I can file for my wife's EAD, If she starts working on EAD do I need to also give up my H1 and start working on EAD?

Please update thread and include this bill too .. It is in our favor too. And we will get more support from Student commuity.. or recent F1 ---> H1B people who haven't even think about getting GC. Right now they feel lucky that they got selected.

Reservation? Yes, it is quite there in my home country. But then, there are many other private sector schools where you can educate your children. After their graduation, they can also work for private sector companies where reservation isn't implemented (yet). If you want to use government facilities only, then yes, you may have issues due to reservation. To tell you the truth, many of us grew up in an environment where people were divided based on cast, religion, geographies and everything else you can think of AND YET a majority of us did well in life. So, if you have it, you'll shine eventually.
In reality, isn't what we are dealing with in the US worse than reservation? Isn't your career restricted? Can you take care of your elderly parents the way you'd really want to? Can you always easily get a basic necessity like a new driver's license? The list goes on..

You are right. But many people came here at the middle of their carrier and they are struck here with their children education etc., They are bound to be here and there is no way. Further, in my country, there are still reservation policies in everything, which may prevent the kids in going in for the education line they like. I donot want to explain this more as I may be degrading my own mother country. In a nutshell, everyone who wish to be a citizen of this country will have lot of valid reasons for getting a citizenship in this country.

Very few will come here if you mention about contributions in the title.
Well, if not that, at least make it obvious that it comes from the right source. I misunderstood this thread as somebody making malicious attack at the core group and disregarded it (though it has been started by a core member). It would help if we can understand who started the post (Like we can do, when we check the india-forums for the TV shows), so that people understand the importance (This may seem as nitpicking but it does make a difference because we dont read everything).
On a second note, even after giving the correct email, i have not received a email from IV like some others have mentioned, after the introductory email after joining in the first time (It would have made me do the pledge earlier if I had gotten the email considering that many of us are infrequent loggers and have a busy travelling schedule).

You can send 2 x 2 photo.. they will cut and make it like a 3.5cm x 3.5cm Or you can use epassportphoto dot com to get yourself a 3.5cm x 3.5cm passport photos for less.

are they strict regarding the photo size of 3.5cm by 3.5cm?I have few old passport size photos of 2 by 2 inches and am thinking of using them.
Which address (India or US) should I mention in the application form?
Do I have to notarize my H1B approval notice and other documents that I mail to them?

ETFs (simple definition) are a hybrid of mutual funds and stocks - they are similar to mutual funds in that they represent a basket of securities (for example stocks or bonds) but they trade like stocks (i.e. they can be bought and sold throughout the day and their quoted price changes as they are traded throughout the trading day .. mutual funds on the other hand are priced only once at the end of the trading day).

let me take a guess - at the minimum - 2 years for your PD and 4-5 years for my PD.
I am quite confused. My date is June 2002 first week .
Not sure if it makes sense to Port to Eb2 , but big uknown is how long it would take PD to move up to June 2002.

Someone mentioned that all vaccines except for Hepatitis B can be completed in 2 days...Hepatitis B takes 6 months. My PD has become current and I haven't had my medical examination yet. I have to take Hepatitis B since don't have immunization records from India.
Does this mean that I can't apply for my I-485 for the next 6 months until I am done with all my Hepatitis B shots?

I am not sure if you need Hepatitis B though. I didn't have Hepatitis B either. The physician did blood work and certified that I satisfied all immunization requirements.
