I don't think 90k for someone with 7-8 years of experience is high in most parts of US. Market rate for IT professionals might have increased in people working with niche technologies. But in general, I see a down trend. And with more people in the job market in Jan 08 (with AC21), I can predict the rates heading south.
Everyone of those people using AC21 will come from an existing job. They will typically go to a higher paying job. Every one of those jobs vacated will have to be sought on the open market, where they'll have market rates of today vs three years ago.
So my glass is half full. :D

It is that time again, the eager wait for the next month's Visa bulletin. It is almost like a monthly ritual for many.
Although there is no clear logic to the movements, there are folks in the line that hold some hope that this might be the one that will get them closer to the GC counter. (happens every month ! :p)
Since predicting VB dates is as close to pulling stuff out of thin air. My gaze in the crystal ball tells EB2-I and EB2-C to be the same: Feb 05 (hoping for a quarterly spill over in Jan 2010 :) )
As for Eb3 even the crystal ball turns foggy. I very much wish EB3-I sees some forward movement in the upcoming bulletin; may be at par with or at least close to ROW/China/Mex/Phil.

Its not all about being Wise. I was stuck in a BEC for some time, but my company refused to refile under PERM for me.
Folks who missed the window - believe me, despite some insensitive remarks now, and in the past, IV is here for you and is working on your unfortunate predicament.
My best advice to those affected by the continuing BEC mire is to join your state chapter, make sure your voice is heard on a local, grassroots level.

The online case status reflects the notice dates and not the actual received dates....These are the dates the cases were entered into USCIS's systems...

only two centers process LAbor Certs. Chicago approves in 4 days mx, but Atlanta Center approves in 4 months .... So people who applied in chicago can file their 485 but people who filed in Atlanta cannot.
Why dont u show ur frustration there ??
And legally, LS or LC or what ever or GC for that matter in these cases, is an employer based peition. And if a legal company wants to do it ......why r u guys worried .......DO NOT GENERALIZE EVERYONE. and on the top .... no one is a dharmatma here as someone said .......

Was this is a change in the procedures of USCIS? If yes, could we not request them to increase the length of the EAD from 1 to 5 years? This will help many of us too. I need to get my DL renewed every year along with the EAD.
Well there was court case related what constitues the 6 years where court said that only period of stay on H1b in US (so period of stay outside US on H1b) doesnt count.
So the law didnt change its the interpreation of law that was changed by the court case.
Same logic goes with H4 (they dont work on H1B ) so it was a matter of time someone would also challenge that on court and win.

The anchor started off the interview by making a reference to "hi tech workers" and that some of these folks were in the British terror plot !! "Why are you filing the lawsuit when your client can apply for the GC in Oct?" !!Anyway, the attorney was quite articulate in explaining the issue. Guess who followed the attorney ... Rep Tom Tancredo who called this a "minor inconvenience" before stating he wants all immigration to be halted!!

This is what you can do - Both in Mumbai and in Delhi, you have USCIS approved doctors who help people going through CP. In other words those who choose to go through emp based CP or family based Green Card which US embassy issues, go through Indian hospitals in Mumbai and Delhi. I think Gangaram in Mumbai has this facility. Ask your wife to get it done from there. Do not wait till the last moment, as someone pointed out, a slight delay in flight could............
Note that for employment based adjustment of status cases, the medicals ABSOLUTELY have to be done in the US by a USCIS approved civil surgeon. One can get the immunizations done in their home country, however the exam has to be done in the US.

I don't understand about this fees.. I mean, you guys would have spent that money anyway. You may be loosing money for medical examination because it may expire. But the rest is something you would have done anyway.. I don't understand the logic of this thread..
Had we know that this was going to happen, at least for July 4 week, we would have planned a vacation and then used that money that we spent.
