Current Status: Fingerprint fee rejected and notice mailed; case in suspense.
On August 21, 2007, we rejected your fingerprint fee and mailed you instructions for how to submit the necessary payment. This case is now in suspense.
Please submit your payment with our notice as soon as possible after you receive our notice so we may resume processing of this case.
But USCIS cashed my checks i didn't know what went worng the total amount i paid is 325+70,170,180.
Did any guys get same kind of problem?

Hello all, I know at least some of you are anxious about EAD. So am I. Starting this thread to see what's going on with it.
This is NOT receipt tracking. Just want to track who got the final EAD card.

I think, if at all Minister is being planned to be met , it is better only few problems are presented to Minister.
PROBLEMS IN INDIA MAY DILUTE THE FOCUS. I think the following would be best to present ..
1) Retrogression.
2) Social Security Treaty.
Numbers justifying above data can do a lot good to explain the problem.
I think VISA retrogression problem can be addressed to the minister. That itself will give BIG relief to thousands of people from India.Make a special VISA Quota for India is another good option. Minister can suggest this option to the US Officials and Senators ! He is scheduled to meet some US senators in DC and NYC.

My wife will be on H1(currently on H4) october onwards...we received our EAD's yesterday. Can I still go and apply for SSN? I mean will that mean she is on EAD and H1 no longer valid?
In my case my wife was on H4. She had to activate EAD to begin working. For that reason she applied for a new SSN.
Based on my limited knowledge, if anybody activate's EAD and begins working on that EAD, they'll lose their H status. Experts need to confirm this.

Although I agree with you on principle...that cannot bring people in numbers. There will always be people who don't agree with each other. leadership involves channeling both parties energies, those who agree with me and those who don't agree. Sounding arrogant, feeling proud of what I did better than others and looking down upon people who don't agree with me, doesn't help me, right? Who am I to judge somebody's attitude and achievements?

With dates current (even if they are for a few months), I wand this CIR to just go away. I would rather take my chances with the old process, then face something that is highly likely to be detrimental to us.
Come to think of it...If I (most of us) have our EAD's (spouse can work, job is portable)...would I really mind waiting to get my GC for 5 years...

It is not about money. I have absolutely no problem giving even 100$s per month for the cause if I know how my hard earned money is being spend. Actions like deleting threads, banning users just for asking reports, makes people uncomfortable. Have you seen the financial report at Eb3 Chinese Financial Report - ��›-�‰�-��Œ�š秿�-‘�•�-‹信�‰˜�Ÿ��‡‘ (http://www.eb3chinese.org/5.html).

The "grand compromise" plan of the US Senate inadvertently (we hope) favors the undocumented over the highly skilled legal immigrants. We are sure the intention of the senators was not to ask the highly skilled legal immigrants to throw away their documents and get in line with the undocumented.
We, all high skilled professionals and ImmigrationVoice.org (12,000+ members) are extremely disappointed by this proposed bill and we would like to oppose this entirely and would like new amendments to benefit our basic needs.
# Increase the Quota from 140,000; NOT reduce to 90,000
# Remove the country limit even for High Skilled Professionals too.
# Provide provision to apply for adjustment of status even when the visa
numbers are not available.
# New Merit based system put the Skilled professional back in the line and also increase the points earned for high
Skilled professionals at least equal to unskilled labors
# Legal status of many individuals will be in jeopardy as important provisions from AC-21 are being removed by Congress

That is correct, scenario 1, atleast to me, seems like a smarter choice, and that is what I have chosen to do.
You can go back on the H-1B if your 485 were to get denied and your appeals (assuming you made any) were to fail, although I am not sure if you need to leave the country and re-enter or if you can adjust status to H-1B without leaving the country.

2000-2002 was worst. Who didnt do job search during that time have no idea how it felt like.
I just came out of school then and it felt like sky is falling on me. Becoming desparate to survive, i went to work in a gas station. The lady owner didnt pay me after i worked for a week saying i am not concentrating enough. Then out of no where i found a technology job that paid 17$ per hour to keep me going and they did my H1 a year later in 2002. It just made me more strong i guess. But, it is a hell of an experience. Most of my freinds went for second masters or PHD to Keep the status.
I've got to agree with you. I was just getting out of college that time as well. I had a job at Best Buy, and trying to find my first break, and all my senoirs were getting laid off. I finally got an internship at a startup company for $2000 a month, and ever since then the market has been doing good. I really hope it will never come to the way it was back then. But as of now things are doing quite well, there is stilll a lot of hiring going on.

I can understand the anxiety. I have similar concerns but you cannot do much when your luck is involved. No matter the amount of scrutiny or verification you do on your part, if your luck is not good, there may be rejection. But they will not reject, they will issue NOID. You have time to appeal etc etc.
So chill out. Enjoy AC21 (the bill was passed to provide relief, not give more tension).
Do not worry too much about what can happen tomorrow. Enjoy today. Enjoy this month. Enjoy this year.

My I485 is pending, recently I have changed my address online. I also recieved confirmation letters for this address change.
After 2 weeks of address change, USCIS issued an RFE. I have not yet received it, but I just want to prepare for this.
What could be the reason for this RFE? Is it common?

This is a public forum, if its really urgent case, i have seen lots of people including myself, pitching in and giving their advices. And also, if it is really an urgent issue that you can't wait for responses, you need to be talking to the lawyer.

I am wondering whats the need to open a new thread with URGENT as the thread name.
I hate to tell this, due to posts and threads like this, people who really require help with some urgent issues, their posts gets ignored.
