I recently moved to Houston TX for a new job on EAD and got a vertical driving license which is valid till 2015 but there is a line printed on it "Temporary visitor status expires july 2010" which is expirary date of my EAD card...
I think I will have to go to DMV again after getting new EAD card in 2010 to revalidate the new date

What if you apply 485 on your own and then, employer fires you just because, you did not abide by his rule. What would happen in that case ? I guess, in most of the cases where employer is creating problem with 485 filing, ppl might not be wanting to go on their own due to above mentioned problem.

so is it the notice date or recipt date that counts.. If someone filed on July 2nd, but the notice date is August 15, where do I coutn 180 days from.

Hi all,
Now H1 period no longer counts against H4 period. As H4 is allowed to do volunteer I work, I had taken up few Volunteer Projects and done some Open Source Projects for keeping my Skills updated.
Is it advisable to put all these expeience in resume, while applying for a new H1B or only professional experience should be shown on the resume.
Advice please.

Nag, u r in a bad situation no doubt. But u had every chance to apply for labor via PERM as well (many of my friends did that) just to be on a safer side. So u r partially to be blamed for ur sorry state.

The government is telling my family I am not an adequate person to form a family with in the U.S. because I was deported with a drug-related offence of more than 30 grams of marijuana, yet it is granting the 212(d)(3) Waiver for Non-Immigrant Visas to Aliens deported with a drug-related offence of more than 30 grams of marijuana and who wish to travel to the U.S.. United States Citizens need an Immigrant Visas Waiver available to their Alien Immediate Relatives deported with a drug-related offence of more than 30 grams of Marijuana in order to even the scales on both U.S. citizen and Alien immigration privileges concerning Deported Aliens with a Drug-Related Offence of More than 30 Grams of Marijuana.
The way things are now U.S. citizens without a criminal conviction and with Alien Immediate Relatives are being discriminated against by their own government. The needs of deported Aliens with criminal convictions are being placed before their own.
It�s pure hypocrisy and it�s my family�s and my name being placed on the line.
I mean, really, how great can the U.S. be if it�s willing to lose their citizens to aliens like me when they decide to move outside of the United States to join their Immediate and shunned Alien Relatives? Brother, your idea is good but practically it is very difficult.
Do you see a donate progress bar at the top, it took an entire month and lot of pushing to get 10,000 US$ in donation.
People are not willing to donate, many have questions about credibility and what work is being done, some have lost entire hope and hence not willing to donate.
It is like chicken and egg, we are asking people to donate to see change, some are saying change is not there and donation does not make a difference.
If it is so difficult to collect 10,000 US$ a month how can your plan collect 5 million ?
If someone is going to ask you the following questions what are your answers,
1) If i donate 50$ what is the feedback (in terms of info, progress) that i will get?
2) What will you do if the administration thanks us and takes the donation and gives it off to a non-profit education organization. (giving donation does not mean that they will do something for us). Then what do we do.
Instead can we not use that money to lobby for our goals.
