yes job market in canada is not good. Alberta (but ist very cold though) is doing better because of the oil sector (oil prices very high)
Some use the 3 years stay neeed (for citizenship application ) to do some
mba etc there that uses up the 2 years. and hang on there for a year
and with canadian citizenship work in us on TN1 visa.
otherwise canada is not that great....but is US great on H1B and married with chidlren ? Basically u have to decide between stay in India or Canada taken citizenship for ur family and then move to us.

I think we need to be careful these kind of conversations aren't detrimental to the current campaign and to IV. I am new here, but I do also feel the drive that chanduv23 has and you know, sometimes you do feel like posting it everywhere and on your forehead. This backlog situation sometimes gets the better of us! I am all for organizing too, we need that. But I do sympathize with those who feel desperate to reach as many visitors as possible. There are still folk out there who would like to send their letter, let's encourage them and still be organized. I promise to keep my posts to threads already existing from now on. Thanks :)

Friends , I was enquiring about Connecticut , but I am pleased to know about all the states.
beppenyc , Do you get your license till I-94 date or beyond it in NYC. Also my wife has the international driving permit , will that help?
Also will it be good idea to collect this info and publish it so that all of us know the rules and regulations of each state , this will help people immensely in situtaions like I am in ?
There are no hassles for DL renewal in CT. you will be ok.

The last statement represents the typical 'Chalta Hai' attitude of an Indian Citizen...

When all of us Indian Citizens say NOW....not i hope tomorrow blah blah..someone will come....

I have created several documents and am working on a similar one as outlined below. But we need 50 people working on such items instead of one.
We have lots of ideas pouring into threads here but most are soon forgotten and not followed up on.
gc_peshwa has created a googlegroup to deal with participating on USCIS calls etc. We can add this agenda to that group to prevent creation of too many googlegroups and spreading ourselves thin. Alternatively we have a "Media" googlegroup as well which is dormant. That group could be used for this purpose.
This is interesting..i am down to help if you are looking for volunteers....I completely agree that lawmakers often overlook the advantages of temporary legal immigrants and by publishing suck documents will certainly help

If you are on H1 and switch to another H1- you do not need to worry about Cap
If you are on H1 and switch to EAD- you have relinquished your H1.Whenever you wish to resume your H1- at that time you will go against the Cap.
Hope this clarifies
What about if one comes back on AP and hence has to use EAD but also has a valid H1 approval ( but no stamping in the passport ) . Can they go back and use that H1 approval for stamping and come back on H1 ? They are still working for the same company which sponsered the H1 and the GC

My dear friends,
The contact information of all the members of the House Subcommittee on Immigration Policy and Enforcement has been given below. Kindly send letters (preferably signed letters instead of emails) requesting them to kindly also include the EB category immigrants waiting in the line for a very long time. Kindly note that we as a community should help ourselves. Every attempt is worth the effort. If we do not write they will not even think of us. If 10,000 letters reach them, atleast they will discuss our case. Hope all our friends will cooperate and send simple one page letters to all members without any delay. THis is a GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY and all the members in the committee are Republicans.

This is encouraging. chandu, I read somewhere (mostly on murhty) that CIS will be publishing new AC21 soon and it is expected to be more stricter. Is this just the speculation or any other indications are received?? any idea? I am afraid that what will happen to people who already have used AC21 by following what currently exists???????
Please post any link where it says it is stricter or any new stuff USCIS wants to implement

I understood that if your employer revokes I-140 you have to start the process all over again with a new emplyer, even with AC21. i thought only if the employer does not revoke can you keep your PD and continue from I-485 stage with the new employer. someone, please confirm if this is wrong/correct
I think answer is - Wrong.
My understanding (after reading a lot on multiple sites; I am not a lawyer) is that once you file I140 and I485 and six months are passed you can use AC21 provisions and continue the same I485 application if the new positions is same/similar even if old I140 is revoked. There are multiple scenarios here each having different levels of risks/issues (again as per my understanding):
(i) You filed I140 and I485 (concurrent or separate). I140 is approved. I485 is pending for six months. You got a job with another employer with same/similar function (i.e. same SOC code; and salary is not radically different; similar title). This is the straight forward case. You can change the job send a letter to UCSIS in a proper format informing them of your job change and new address if any. No need to start the process from scratch at new place even if old employer revokes your I140 your 485 should be approved when priority dates are current.
(ii) You filed I140 and I485 (concurrent or separate). I140 is NOT approved. I485 is pending for six months. This is a bit complicated case but heard still possible if the old employer does not revoke the I140; but if its revoked then back to square one at new employer. It might be possible to keep the priority date if relevant docs are collected (see next).
(iii) I140 is approved, you havnt yet applied for 485. If you change jobs you might be able to keep the priority date (if you can get documents). I am not sure if we can keep priority dates if I140 is revoked in this case.
Please comment if my understanding is correct.
Also on a related subject what happens to H1b extension if underlying I140 is revoked? My case is like this: am in 6th year of H1B; applying for I140. Once its approved, planning to apply for 3year extension. After that change employers with new 3year H1B (I know the process has to start fresh at the new place). What happens to my H1B if the old employer revokes the I140. Does this mean my extended h1b is invalid or I can continue without any issues? Anyone in similar situation?

Folks...it looks like I have been given membership to this exclusive club, by USCIS...:)
My status on USCIS Online case tracker shows,
"Current Status: Fingerprint fee rejected and notice mailed; case in suspense."
When I spoke with my attorney, he says, There are two options.
1. I can dispute and in turn get my processing delayed
2. Repay the fingerprint fees ($70) and forget about my first payment
Naturally, anyone would prefer option - 2.

I got an RFE on Nov 15th for copies of my degree certificates and my attorney sent them in a few after getting the RFE notice. I had an LUD on Nov 30th (Date when they received response to RFE) saying case processing has resumed. I also have another LUD on Dec 2nd. But the status still says case processing resumed. Does anyone know why there are 2 LUD's even though the case status is the same. Does it mean anything?
Relax, LUDS could be internal updates no one can tell you with absolute certainty what they mean. I saw this whole thread you are in panic mode and restless. Just relax man your case will be approved soon.Think of it this that they are working on your case not like others who have filed and heir cases are lying on the shelf.

You have an approved I-140, so the PD belongs to you.
Find a job that requires either an MS degree or BS+5 years experience (this could very well be your current job). File a new perm. When it's approved file for a new I-140 in EB2 attaching the copy of the old approved I-140 asking to capture that date.
Then attach your new I-140 with EB2 to your existing I-485 application.

Point noted. So we sang it for respect. So from what you say, it is possible for one to remain on green card forever? what are the advantages/disadvantages?
Citizenship comes 5 years later, if one's interested (and may not be everyone's goal).
Singing a country's national anthem is also different than taking the pledge of allegiance (the latter means you are pledging your loyalty to the United States):

Having said that, excellent job Pankaj!! You had the crowds mesmerized!
