Can you please help me with this?...I have already submitted the affidavit copy and now they want it from Registrar office. Has any one got it from registrar office in India? if so, how difficult it is and what is the procedure?

If a birth certificate does not list the names of both mother and father, or the child, secondary evidence must be submitted to establish parentage. Well, we can keep the org name as IV, and just start a campaign with a better name (with descriptive URLs) without worrying about the overhead of changing registrations, etc.
There are some good points here, "ImmigrationVoice" sounds very broad and comprehensive. Most American's have never even heard of employment based immigration. Furthermore, they don't see what the problem is with H1Bs - they figure, why are you complaining, you are here in the glorious USA, you should be thankfull and happy.
Anyway, some better branding on our part with campaigns can serve the same purpose as a fullblown name change. For example, the campaign could be called: "Competitive Immigration", and it's derivatives. "Innovation America", like CompeteAmerica which has a great name. Also, "Keep America on Top" or KAT, just spewing ideas that come to mind.... and emphasize the need to keep and attract bright minds to America - or else they will compete with us offshore.

This is exactly the kind of communication we need from the core.
I concur with you all the way, if you look at this country's political history, all major bills passed through the election year. We have hope, this bill will pass. So please lets all remain positive and strive our efforts for our goals.
Also with the PM of INDIA coming this week and the talks on 123 agreement, I am positive something good is coming to all of us. This agreement will be the first important treaty between US & India.

I did not follow the I-485 filing debate; it was sickening. I made a one time contribution. I don't think I am included in the 220 count. I think there are very few members who have made a one time payment recently and are not included in 220.
I think, the count 220 includes only recurring payments that started this month. Some persons paid before this count started.
The only useful thing we can do is to work on contributions. It is hard to figure out reasons why persons are not paying. I think it will be useful if we guess all possible reasons and work on all of them.
We should not insult any non-paying member or anyone for that matter. I still want to know

Fox news and CNN are right wing media organisations who exagerate and create fear among decent American citizens. I for sure will do all my best from now on to expose this vicious campaign and even complain to organisations in the US about Lou Dobbs/Tom and their hate propaganda. CNN (Ted Turner) and Fox (Rupert Murdoch) also operate in other nations like India and we must let the Indian government (revoke their licences) and media organisations know about this.

because USCIS is not even willing to talk if the Service center does not have processing dates current. And if my case is in California (which website says), then the processing dates are not current and have never been current and probably will not be current for a very long time. CSC does not process 485 applications at all.

Give us some break. I come to IV site to get some information on immigration issues and what I get are 'n' numbers of threads for same issue. ---- ADMIN FIX.......

I wrote an email to the president today. I felt so good after doing 2 things today. Expressed my anguish to the president of the United States and contributed to Immigration Voice. Buddies lets do something. We have always been low on priority compared to other pressing issues. Well Ok we waited, the economy is turning (well OK we will never see the actual turn at least we have seen retail spending up and some hiring, the stock market is going OK). When will be emerge out of the shadows and demand for a reform to the broken legal system? Cmon friends Get up, contribute, write to the senators, the president, lets DO something. When we are legal, why do we HOLD back. Up and running our new slogan!!!!

Truth always hurts. It is not too much talking when I say that people can't afford to contribute 20 bucks to IV. Out of roughly 9000 members, only 200 contributed in the last contribution drive and now you should be able to do the math yourself. That is the fact and it's very troubling that 98% of the members chose to contribute nothing.
If you expect 200 people to find relief for 1 million so called high skilled immigrants present in United States, may be you need to wake up and do some reality check. Just checking IV 50 times a day for an update will not bring any relief, if that's what you are counting on. No wonder we are yet to see any relief whatsoever.
Please dont be rubbish to others. your suggestion to open another thread which make sense. BUT your contribution request and even talking their affordability to 20 bucks are too much talking.

Thanks for the summary lonedesi, it was very helpful understanding how did the show go.

Ok my last attempt to convey my thoughts:
If your H1B is approved and you are granted an extension it only means that your application was approvalble at the time of filling. Now in order to maintain H1B status you should have:
1. Job with that employer who sponsored H1B
2. Income as dictated in LCA
3. Other condition such as NO DUI etc
Now what if one of the condition in the list above is:
4. Your I-140 on which the extension is granted should NOT be revoked.
I know this is not spelled out clearly, becasue in the past no one took this avenue. Now with premium processing everyone wants to do a quick PERM + 140 to get 3 more years on H1B. It is important that USCIS should clarify their stand on it, one way or the other. In fact if any of the service center sets a precedence by simply implying that one's H1B is invald after I-140 is revoked the interpretation will be cleared. Unfortunately it hasn't happend yet or I we are not aware of it. I hope they clarify it sooner than later.
That's why you have to be quick...Before your earlier employer revokes the petition...(that takes some time..) you got to get a new labor and a new approved I-140 and after that they cannot throw us out technically...
The whole thing is a mess..

The reality is that we are just being played upon by the companies and the US govt regarding green cards. Employers know that we are not going to budge from our jobs to maintain the coveted priority date and the government is in no big hurry to reform the system as they can collect taxes from us without being accountable to us.
I think Democrats are also going to drag the immigration issue as seen by the article below :

For all of you single people out there, the only fastest option is to marry a US girl/guy. For all those who are married, the choices are simple, forget the American dream and adopt a Canadian or Australian dream or endure the uncertainty of a green card application.
I have reached the conclusion that I cannot bear this uncertainty any more and therefore, I am pursuing other options. Ciao...Good luck to all those waiting for a GC!
