U have such a big signature but nothing abt contribution to IV. Have u contributed anything to IV? If not, how do u thinkIV can fight for whatever it is fighting?
yes I have, I have been a contributing member from Apr 2006 when there just a handful of members. I have so far contributed 450 dollars in regular intervals of 100, 50. We also took up the talk to senator campaign in our state and met our 13 district congressman and senators from WA and explained IV's position. I have also provided input to IV core on how to contact them in DC. My wife regularly posts IV messages in orkut where she is an active member. I used to put my contribution in my signature until I read a post where people were complaining on putting up the signature. I plan to use my miles for me and my wife to go to DC if I get my time off approved. I had planned to go on 13th. I have gotten 10 contributing members to join IV so far. If you still have doubts on my IV contributions, let me know and I will be more than happy to do a public disclosure on my funds contributed!

I did post about this. We have seen professor's expert opinion letters showing the equivalency to the MA being approved. However, the evidence does point to an equivalency to a BA.

How can CA/ICWA be equivalent to MS programs as they are post high school courses? These courses do not require graduation for admission.

My husband did his PMP Certification on his own.. he used a couple of pmi guides that he bought from amazon.com in addition to the PMBOK book. he worked on this certification for 3 to 4 months and passed it. It is possible. It is quite useful according to him if you want to lead teams. No need to spend money on this training.

Do you know how many people from S. Korea, Japan and from Africa apply for GC? You are making an extremely pre-mature and rash statement which might alienate what's probably the only developed country in the world which is still not hostile to people of color.
If EB3 is moving faster than EB2, then you can figure out why I'm sure. Don't blame the porters, blame the system.

This is a very valid point. If employer or his lawyer asks more money in fees for filing I485 it is always better to go thro employer if he files I485 promptly. But if the delay is intention of the employer then use your own Lawyer.

My child is now over 21 years of age, however is OK with our present EB-3 filing. We all are on EAD. Now if I go for EB-2 route, my doubt is that my child who is already 21 plus years, will not be eligible to be beneficiary in this new EB-2 route...or is there any way?

I don't see what's wrong with this requirement. It's always been a requirement in PA. If someone can't produce an employment letter, it's probably because he is on the bench or unemployed and that makes him out of status. If you are out of status, you are ineligible for a driver's license.

I still have a RED dot against me from Ms Hemione with whom I had an argument about illegals.. not that I care much about it. Its been a definite learning experience for me
- Would you like to continue your support to immigration voice and help others waiting?
I visit the forum and read the issues and make calls to the senators and congressmen. Sent letter for the administrative fixes and active in my own way. I am not participating in the local chapter which is something I would like to address this coming few months.
- Any advice for everyone?
Easier said than done ! This process is extremely frustrating for most of the people who are in the queue. We are still in the queue for our son. We should do what ever is possible from our side to espouse our case and make us heard. IV has been a leader in this and we should support the cause in whatever way we can. Not everybody can contribute in the same way but at the end of the day each drop adds to the pool.
Once anyone received his greencard, please update the IV tracker too. We like to see how many members in IV are greencard holders and what is the current trend of approvals in our membership

You are absolutely right. Dems are only worried about illegals. Its good that they are no longer a majority in the House. I think we have better option for any kind of piecemeal bills with republicans only.

my non-lawyerly suggestion: do not file ac21 until well into whichever job you takel
I have read on various forums that there is no necessity to notify unless there is an RFE, but to maintain appropriate evidence at all times. you may want to consider doing that until you are well settled in whichever job you take.
by the way, what is your PD?

When I joined this forum it was to look advice on my case and to offer help when I could. No one has ever taken the time to explain what the objectives of the Core are. What I see alot of are #1 asking people to contribute and #2 members complaining about people asking their questions in the wrong area or opening too many threads. Someone needs to explain fully what Core is doing and list ways for the members to help. I would love to help if I can. Unfortunately I don't have a lot to offer financially being that my husband and I are living off one income. I wish I could go to the rally but I cant afford to do that either. There must be some way that I can help- stuffing envelopes or something- anything. But what I would love to see is an explanation of what it is the Core is trying to accomplish and a set of guidelines for posting if possible because I am so sick and tired of seeing "please close this thread"

....I am not sure why someone is portraying Infy or Wipro as companies that go for "Easy money..." that's completely ridiculous. Agreed they are not doing lots of so called high-end R & D projects and majority of thier revenue is still from service industry. But that does not make these companies any lesser.
I am not sure how much insight you guys got into these companies, but they are doing quite a lot of good assignments. Also, the processes they got in place & the maturity they show in execution of assignments is definitely on par with any other software services company in the world.
Probably a bunch of you folks are frustrated with these companies because the billing rates are driven down & opportunites in US (for consultants) are becoming less due to these companies' offshore model - but that does not make these companies shallow as you are trying to portray.
PS: I am not an employee with either of these companies. FOr that matter, none of these offshore-based companies. But the facts are to be accepted.

I meet many workers from these "great" companies at my workplace and see them being treated just as "low cost alternatives" and nothing else by this huge financial company in NY/NJ area. Because of their (INFY, TATA, Wipro, Satyam) "low billing rates" these guys cant afford good lifestyle. And back home in India INFY and TATA CEOs make billions and talk BIG. I've not met any TATA, Satyam guy here who is happy with their employer. They just hate their employers and always looking for a change. I wonder where they stand in terms of employee satisfaction? They treat their people like slave and send them as low cost labor. Not only that - they exploit US immigration rules and make use of L1 to keep their people long term at cliant place when they dont get enough H1.

One important issue is over looked here. Small employers will have a tough time in proving I-140 "ability to pay" for employees with older PD�s, whose labor got cleared after Aug 17 from BEC. Cuz the company has to prove its "ability to pay" the proffered wage starting from the date PD is established continuing until the adjudication of I-140.
Suppose the PD for an employee is Oct 2001 and the proffered wage is 80K per annum, then the company should prove that its assets, net income or salary payments were >=80K starting from Oct2001 continuing until the adjudication of I-140.
This is indeed an acid test for small employers.
