one more question Plz. Sorry for bugging.
I lost this Expired EAD card during moving and now i only have its Front copy which i am going to submit with my I-765 form.
will it be any problem submitting only front copy of the Previous EAD because they are requesting for both (Front and Back) of the Previous EAD.

I think you mean once you are assigned a permanent A# ! It is assigned before a visa number is assigned.
A number series starting with 1 (eg. for OPT) are temporary. Those starting with 9 are permanent.

L1 has been in use for past 12 years...and the L1 holders have been working at client sites.
TCS never does grean cards, WIPRO rarely does, that too in 5th year of H1. InFOSYS rarely does. CTS is the one who does many H1s, L1s and green cards, green cards in EB1.
When consulting companies are misusing H1s, why cant companies like TCS,WIPRO,CTS,HCL misuse L1s...Nobody is honest in US. Nobody is working honestly in US. Less than 1% in US are honest. And those people will be working as developer forever.
After 5 yrs...if u have 2 project outside india - u get EB1 in Infosys (of course not all but many do).
Do 1 project in USA and one in Europe and you get a tag of "Global Project Manager" and hence qualify for EB1. I personally know 3 ppl.

I don't think that's an option. The company has strict rules of using it's corporate attorney's through out the green card process. Hence the dilemna.

For China-mainland born EB-2, if demand remains as has been seen over the last couple of months, it is expected that the 01 JAN 03 cut-off date will hold, and it is likely that all numbers will be used within the current cut-off date. The State Dept. has ssured that it is looking for mechanisms to maximize number usage so that no visa numbers remain unallocated, and is looking for ways to make additional India and China-mainland born numbers available, such as by making sure that unused numbers that had been sent to consular posts are promptly returned

Is lobbying for relaxing AC-21 portability rules with regard to "similar" job profile in the agenda of IV?
Assuming we get out EAD's and the wait for the final card is very long, flexibility on the AC 21 will be the next big thing.

Hello all
starting Jan 19th 2010, all the previous forms for non-immigrant visa (DS 156, 157 and 158) are removed and one single form DS 160 is introduced. I am trying to fill that for my parents and this form is an online form and one of the questions in page 1 is "your full name in native alphabet". I remember filling that for my H1 previously where I take the printouts and write my name in that box in my native language. the new form however doesn't let you save or move forward with an empty box. the only other option there is "do not apply" and not sure if that is the right way of doing it (right now its the only way I can fill this form)
anyone who filled this form recently - can you please share what you did?

I have an apptmt in Mumbai for May 12th for an H-1 staming and I am WORKING in USA and the address in the passport is in KERALA (Chennai consulate).

It is advisable to apply in your own district. That is the last place in India where you resided for at least 6 months before going to the U.S.

Embassy or Consulate at an applicant's designated consulate are generally more familiar with his or her circumstances and documents than the officers somewhere else would be.You should also be aware that even if this post allows you to apply, it is still possible that the interviewing officer will refuse to adjudicate your case and will refer you to your own district anyway.
Application fees in this case will NOT be refunded.

We invited our in-laws last September and it was not easy for them to get the visa in the first interview. They got denied with the reason 214(b) without verifying any Indian documents. Infact, my father-in-law was a government servant and he was still employed at the time of interview. My wife was on EAD and I was on H1-B and I was inviting my in-laws to USA.
We then asked a letter from the senate's office requesting the visa officer to issue them visa and explained that they have strong ties with family members back in India and have bank balance and property. It was surprise that nothing was asked in the second interview and they could get a 10 years multiple entry visa. This time my wife invited her parents.
In all this, we wasted time, money and were very tensed since my wife's due date was approaching and it was only a month far.

I'd like to know if any of you invited your parents while on AOS. Last time I invited my in-laws I had H1-B et al....now we are on AOS and my wife is sponsoring her parents. We are on AOS. I do not have a job currently so I can't get an EVL and my wife has and she is inviting and the I-134 is also from her...we have EADs valid till late 2010....she had her F1 valid till Oct 2009 but she is working on dependent EAD.
So do you think there could be any potential problem.....Last time I had sponsored my in-laws but they were questioned a lot at the embassy....so now my wife will be sponsoring ...I hope there are no potential problems.
Path 2 USA do not mention anything special for EADs/AOS et al....

Since nobody attempted to answer your question, let me give a try.
The answer depends on what is the EB3-PD ? If someone (like me) had a PD of 2001 , then it would have become current more than a couple of times. Just in the last two years my PD became current thrice (including July Fiasco), and am still waiting for my approval.
But if you are asking how many times did EVERYONE became current, then possibly only once (The July '07 fiasco). I can tell this for sure since 2000. I am not aware of any info before that year.

Do any equipment savy forum members have any views on the Nikon Nikkor 28-200mm f/3.5 - 5.6D IF AF Zoom lens positive, negitive or otherwise? Target camera will be my D70. Thanks in advance.On 1.5x sensor, the 28mm becomes 42mm 35mm-camera equivalent. That's definitely not wide enough. To me, attaching a wide-range and large lens to my camera, and carrying it in hiking, rain forest, desert, etc is not preferred unless you packed inside the backpack and take it out only when taking pictures. Then I would prefer two lenses, something of 18-35mm, and 70-200mm. That's was my Nikon days for 25+ years prior to changing over to canon one month ago.

If your I-140 is approved and if your I485 is pending for more than 180 days, you can move to a new employer. In such case you can use your valid EAD for the employment with the new employer OR you can transfer your valid H1B to the new employer. AC21 is about just informing USCIS about your job change, no matter whether you are using EAD and H1 transfer.
Note:
- Informing USCIS is not mandatory, it is a gray area.
- 180 days waiting period is just to be on the safer side. After 180 days of filing I485, invoking of approved I140 by your previous employer will not have any effect.
